Nexa Peru has announced a strategic alliance of cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), thus reaffirming its commitment to the communities within its zones of influence.

Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Nexa Peru has ratified its commitment to local development in accordance with the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDO).

“At Nexa, we believe in focusing on the community value. We believe that building empathetic relationships with the nearby communities, with shared values as well as being an agent that drives social transformation through a territorial approach, is the key”, Ricardo Porto, Nexa Peru CEO commented.

In this respect, the UNDP and Nexa have agreed to work as strategic partners in order to improve the Human Development Indexes in the territories where the company operates.

“We seek to develop a mining that is in harmony with the traditional ways of life, with the environment, with local development whilst making use of technology and of continuous innovation in order to improve the production processes and reduce the environmental impact. This is our proposal: carrying out the mining of the future, today”, Porto concluded.
